Happy Diwali and A Very Happy New Year

I am probably one of the last ones writing and wishing people happy Diwali. exciting day yesterday.
Parin Shah and two junior Shahs went around half Cardiff for more than an hour to look for firecrackers - Sorry fire works to be correct
First time my kids wanted it. guess where did I find in my garage enough to last for more than an hour. I am getting SMART.

This is my first message of the New year with a wish for a very prosperous new year for all ahead.
There was very poor attendance to Badminton last night only 6 showed up  and hence got a chance to play toooooooooooo many games - NICE. wish there is Diwali every Tuesday

It is said if you do something on New Year day than you have to do every day for next whole year and hence I am leaving for work. Lucky who are on leave of whatever kind................

Monday

Nice start to the school holiday week with good 12 hours of sleep.

Have listened to songs, played my pc game,  worked on a paper and bought a nice £ 1 pound currency yesterday from Scotland waiting it to be mailed to me

By the way Sidney Sixers won the Champions trophy - but who cares, wasn't aware that the competition exists. But surely my friends in Sydney know all about it.

Last week I was upset with my little one so I deleted all recorded cartoons and this morning elder one managed to retrieve all. Even I don't know how to do it. Now he is hero and I am Monster!!!!!!

but is going in the right direction. If you have a gadgets, you should know how to use it.

Anybody has tried Google scholar nice stuff - please see attached link

Mind Game 2% or 98%

This is strange...can you figure it out?

Are you the 2% or 98% of the population?

Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD!

Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow.

There's no trick or surprise.

Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can!

Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until you've done each of them ... really.

Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).

Think of a number from 1 to 10

Multiply that number by 9

If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together

Now subtract 5

Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with

(example: 1=a, 2=B, 3=c,etc.)

Think of a country that starts with that letter

Remember the last letter of the name of that country

Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter

Remember the last letter in the name of that animal

Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter

Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange ?

I told you this was FREAKY!! If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this exercise.

Surgeon

Wanted to be Physician but became a surgeon, don't know why????

What is a Surgeon?

"A surgeon should be youthful or at any rate nearer youth than age; with a strong and steady hand that never trembles, and ready to use the left hand as well as the right; with vision sharp and clear, and spirit undaunted; filled with pity, so that he wishes to cure the patient, yet is not moved by his cries, to go too fast, or cut less than is necessary; but he does everything just as if the cries of pain cause him no emotion".

published in BMJ,     --------   can somebody please translate in English

I also found a nice English Proverb

"A good surgeon must have an eagle's eye, a lion's heart, and a lady's hand."

This must be an animal lover lets send him to jungle

Than I found something nice

A physician is someone who knows everything and does nothing.
A surgeon is someone who does everything and knows nothing.
A psychiatrist is someone who knows nothing and does nothing.
A pathologist is someone who knows everything and does everything too late.

Looks like somebody missed my anaesthetist & gynaecologist friends

Personally

"A surgeon can only be a surgeon if he has an EGO”

BUT the best was yet to come

T20 to Champions trophy

Well done West Indies for winning the T20 world cup. Big achievement, they won the last world cup in 1979  and  ICC champions trophy in 2004. This team has come a long way. I still remember the small miniature pepsi bottle, cricket ball and cricket bat signed by Kapil dev. This was the time when Malcolm Marshall used to be terror fast bowler with strong Windies batting line up. of 80s.

feel sorry for Srilanka, having lost world cup last year with India in Mumbai and now losing second time against West Indies in their Home ground.

could only watch few over but enjoyed it

Champions trophy is being played in the UK with opening game being played in cardiff June 6th. I think this is the time to go for tickets. India is playing South Africa. Any body interested .....................................

http://www.icc-cricket.com/home  This is the official site of ICC for fixtures

In the closing note, ENGLAND is coming to India,  cheering for white wash.

By the way got my album for the Olympic coins - shall update pictures later
